FAMINE RELIEF IN WEST AFRICA – „HUNGRY AND NEEDY”
In 16 countries around the world, the food situation is very serious. Most of all this are countries of sub-Saharan Africa. (See. Global Hunger Index)
Hunger is not first of all a problem of lack of food, but rather a consequence of unequal distribution. The reasons for this are many: war, poverty, unfavorable economic and political conditions.
The Jörg Wolff Foundation (JWF) therefore supplies most vulnerable groups in West Africa with basic food.
Under the headline “HUNGRY AND NEEDY” the JWF funds the famine relief activities of HUMANAKTIV eV – the agency of the New Apostolic Church of Southern Germany – in the countries of Ivory Coast, Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. By these projects the sick, disabled and disadvantaged people, including orphans and street children, get food, medicine and hygiene products.
The distribution of relief supplies is done usually by the local pastor of the New Apostolic Church.
